The sacrament of Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door that gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from the bondage of original sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of the Body of Christ and thus incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission. We, the Parish Community of St. Helen of the Cross, Roman Catholic Church, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and our love for one another, as Jesus loves us, are called to serve all the people of God in our community through our corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
We, as a worshiping parish community, will continue to expand the works of Jesus' saving grace through respect, outreach, evangelization, teaching, ministering to the sick and the poor, and serving the least and most vulnerable among us, as Jesus taught us.
